Virginia Linen Service, Inc. receives APSE Employer Award

Virginia Linen Service, Inc. is honored to have been awarded the 2014 Service Partnership Award by the Association of People Supporting EmploymentFirst (APSE) and Chesterfield Employment Services (CES). John Teyssier and David Leedy accepted the award on behalf of Virginia Linen Service at Chesterfield County’s Annual Recognition Event on Thursday, November 20, 2014.

Nominated by Phil Nussbaum, Manager at CES, Virginia Linen Service was awarded for their “exemplary partnership and service to the Chesterfield Community Services Board”. Virginia Linen Service provides work for individuals with disabilities in many aspects of their operation including textile conservation, mending, laundry sorting, facility services and cart washing. CES workers are hired directly by Virginia Linen Service and integrated into each department where they have enjoyed getting to know their co-workers. With encouragement from Virginia Linen Service to participate in all social aspects of the business, many workers are involved with other company workers in activities outside of the daily work.

The positive reputation of working with CES has continued and “Virginia Linen values the CES staff and workers for their commitment and dedication. Working with CES has proven to be a worthwhile and enjoyable experience and we look forward to a continued partnership” says General Manager, David Leedy.

Phil Nussbaum has described Virginia Linen Service as “delivering a positive image of themselves to CES, APSE and the community as a socially engaged business and has become a true partner and a great example to other employers in the area.”
